Description

Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Sandwiches are a delicious and easy-to-make meal featuring tender, slow-cooked chuck roast seasoned with a blend of spices, shredded and mixed with rich BBQ sauce, then served on soft buns topped with crisp coleslaw. Perfect for a comforting family dinner or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef and Seasonings

  • 2 1/2 – 3 lb. Chuck Roast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika

Sauce and Toppings

  • 1 (18-ounce) bottle BBQ Sauce
  • Coleslaw, enough for topping 6 sandwiches
  • 6 Sandwich Buns

Instructions

  1. Season the Chuck Roast: Place the chuck roast in your slow cooker and generously season it with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and smoked paprika to ensure a flavorful base.
  2. Slow Cook the Meat: Cook the seasoned chuck roast on low heat in the slow cooker for 8 hours until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.
  3. Shred and Mix with BBQ Sauce: Once cooked, carefully drain any excess fat from the slow cooker. Use two forks to shred the beef finely, then stir in the BBQ sauce. Let the mixture heat for about 15 minutes on low to meld the flavors.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches: Spoon the hot BBQ beef onto the bottom halves of the sandwich buns. Top each with a generous portion of coleslaw, then place the bun tops on and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use a well-marbled chuck roast for the most tender and flavorful meat.
  • If you prefer, homemade coleslaw can be used instead of store-bought for a fresher taste.
  • The shredded beef can be prepared a day ahead and reheated to save time on serving day.
  • For extra smoky flavor, use a BBQ sauce with smoked ingredients or add a touch of liquid smoke to the sauce.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
